-
Officers generate citations
on computers in their squad cars.
-
Nearly all ticket
information is entered using simple pre-programmed "hotkeys" and drop-down
lists. Minimal typing is required.
-
Defendant and vehicle
information is inserted automatically in the citation form by querying the
Department of Motor Vehicles records or through the use of a magnetic stripe
reader.
-
Violations are selected from
a table which includes the offense description along with the corresponding
statute or ordinance numbers.
-
Fine amounts appear
automatically, along with the next available court date.
The printed citation is clear and easy to read and includes violation
descriptions, fine amount, and a court date for the violator.
-
The data captured at the
violation site is transferred via radio wave to the ACS Server.
-
An overnight batch process
sends all citations issued that day to the court system's computer and to
the Law Enforcement RMS.
